The New COMMON CORE Curriculum What It Means to Museum Educators
The Louisiana Association of Museums is taking registrations for a professional development workshop called, “The New Common CORE Curriculum: What It Means to Museum Educators.” This workshop will be held on January 25, 2013 from 10am to noon. The workshop will be held at the West Baton Rouge Museum in Port Allen, LA. The new Common Core State Standards are changing the way that teachers across the country present content. These new standards concentrate on literacy, thinking, and problem solving. Informational text and primary sources will be imperative to the implementation of these new standards. Presenters Tammy Seneca, Ph.D., Supervisor of Information Systems and Educational Technology, and Stephanie Thompson, Technology Facilitator, are with the West Baton Rouge Parish Schools.
